The acronym SITRA stands for The South India Textile Research Association. SITRA is a premier research institute established in the year 1956, sponsored by industry and supported by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. SITRA offers extensive testing services, consultancy service, R&D services and Training services for Technical textile industry apart from the conventional textile industry. SITRA has been designated as a Centre of excellence for Medical textiles.
